30th Poem: Through A Lens

Through A Lens

Who do you see behind the lens of your other lens,
when you adjust the diaphragm’s circumference,
not of your irises but of it, where you crouch in position
as how you aim and take a shoot out of the moment,
of why you press on the shutter for a fragment of eternity,
which is burnt on the layer of the retinas as it falls on the centre?

Thus, what do you see upon whom are in front of you?

~End~
(dedicated to David, the photographer who triggered my brain cells as he took my pictures)

***

Another dedication poem! It's a thank-you-poem for the generous photographer who took my pictures and thanks to him that I'm developing a certain fetish toward my own self. Not to mention, those wonderful pictures do pump up my narcissistism level. Hahaha ;P

As you can see, this poem still has the style of 5W1H which consists of what, who, when, where, why and how. Dunno why but this basic style of 5W1H is just the easiest to write when I need to create a poem under than 5 minutes. Futhermore, I'm actually comparing the camera to the eyes of the photographer, that is the whole thought of the poem.
Therefore, sorry, for those who does not understand the anatomical terms for human eye.

However, it's only one of the versiosn that I've already written. This one turns out unsatisfying for me and my mind. Perhaps I'll write another one in this coming week. So, yup, this is only the first version. I'll try to write another version of this theme. Hope the second version can do some justice.

Anyway, happy reading and enjoy!
